Webflow support

Who owns the site during monthly Webflow support?

See who keeps the Webflow site, the hosting account, and work that has already been paid for on the monthly plan.

THE SHORT ANSWER

You keep ownership of your website, content, and accounts during monthly Webflow support. Once paid for, the work created for that website belongs to you. Your Webflow subscription, hosting, domains, and third-party apps stay in your own accounts and at your own cost. General methods and tools that are not specific to your website stay separate. Cancelling does not move the site out of your account.

You keep the site and the accounts

Monthly support is permission to work on a Webflow site you already have. It is not a transfer of the project. You keep ownership of your website, content, and accounts.

Your Webflow subscription, hosting, domains, and third-party apps or services remain in your own accounts and at your own cost. Keep that subscription active and paid. The monthly plan does not take over the Webflow bill, and it does not move the registrar login.

You give access with the permissions the work needs. You still control that access, because the account stays yours. The prepare guide is the list to gather before the first request. This page is about who owns the site after that access exists.

Example: the live marketing site stays in your Webflow workspace, on the Site plan you already pay for, with the domain at the registrar you already use. Nothing in the monthly plan creates a second hosting account or asks you to hand over the workspace.

Paid work on that site belongs to you

Once paid for, the work created for your website belongs to you. A text change, a new page inside the current design, or a CMS update done inside the included hours is part of your site after it is paid for.

The plan is $999 per month and includes 10 hours of Webflow work. Additional work is $75 per hour. Before work exceeds the included hours, I share a written estimate and ask for your written approval. Additional work starts only after you approve it. Work you do not approve does not begin, so there is no unpaid page left in a dispute about who owns it.

Example: a /workshop page that follows the current layout is built with those hours. After that work is paid for, the page is yours. It remains in your project if you later stop the plan. A new website or a full redesign is a separate project with its own scope and quote. That separate project is also yours once it is paid for. It is not folded into the 10 hours.

You review changes and confirm when they are ready to publish. That confirmation is a decision on your site. It does not sign the site over.

General methods stay separate from your site

I keep ownership of general knowledge, methods, and tools that are not specific to your website. You give permission to use your content only to provide the service. That permission is not a license to place your copy or your images on someone else's site.

Example: the headline and the photos on your pricing page are your content. A personal checklist used to review any Webflow form is a method, not a page in your project. The classes, text, and images that were actually added to your project are part of your website.

Unused hours do not change this split. Unused hours expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not carry over. They are not a file you can keep, and they are not a credit you can trade. Memberships cannot be paused in order to hold unused time.

Leaving the plan does not move the site

You can cancel before the next renewal. Cancelling stops future billing. Service continues through the paid period, and any remaining included hours stay available until that period ends. The site, the domain, and the work already paid for stay in your account. Cancelling this plan does not cancel the Webflow subscription.

The cancel guide is the written notice for that renewal. Read it when you want the billing to stop. Come back to this page when the question is who keeps the project.

A request that would replace the whole design is a separate project, not a change of owner for the current site. The hours on this plan stay on the existing site: maintenance, content updates, bug fixes, improvements, and new pages within the existing design.

Where this is written down

Ownership questions belong in the same written thread as the work. Communication is asynchronous and written only. There are no calls or meetings to renegotiate who owns a single page.

If a file or a login was shared only so the work could be done, say so in that thread when the work is finished. The account itself was never part of the handoff.

The Webflow retainer is one plan for every existing Webflow site: $999 per month, including 10 hours. The retainer guide explains which ongoing work those hours cover.

Questions & answers

Does cancelling move the site into another Webflow account?

No. Cancelling stops the next renewal. The site, the domain, and the pages already paid for stay in your account through the end of the paid period and after it.

Who pays the Webflow hosting bill?

You do. Your Webflow subscription, hosting, domains, and third-party apps stay in your own accounts and at your own cost. The monthly plan does not replace that bill.

Do unused hours become a file or a credit I own?

No. Unused hours expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not carry over. They are not a download and not a credit toward a later project.

Can a new website be owned through the same 10 hours?

A new website or a full redesign is a separate project with its own scope and quote. Once that project is paid for, the work created for your website belongs to you as well.
