What if a Webflow request is waiting on my decision?

Write the choice in the same Webflow thread so the hours go to the option you picked, not to a guess you later undo.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Reply in the same written thread and mark the option you want. A request that still needs a headline, a page, or a photo is not ready to finish. There is no call to decide it. The plan is $999 per month with 10 hours. Time spent on a guess stays spent. Extra time is $75 per hour and starts only after written approval. Unused hours do not carry over.

A missing choice leaves the request unfinished

A request that still needs you to pick the headline, the page, or the photo is not ready to finish. The work can follow the thread. It cannot follow a preference you have not written down.

Example: the note says 'update the homepage hero' and attaches three headlines, with no mark on the one to use. Building all three, or guessing the first, spends the hours on work you may throw away. Write the choice before that happens.

This is not the delivery estimate. A date for larger work is shared after the scope is clear enough to judge. The delivery estimate guide is that later note. If the copy or the page is still missing, there is nothing solid to put a date on yet.

Mark one option in the same thread

Reply in the thread that already holds the request. Name the option you want, and name the ones you do not.

  • Use headline B: 'Email us about the spring menu.'
  • Do not build A or C.
  • Change only the heading on the homepage. Leave the photo.

A note that says 'what do you think?' is not a decision. Communication is asynchronous and written only. There are no calls or meetings to talk through the options. The useful reply is the choice, in writing, in the same thread.

If you are not ready to choose, say hold. A hold means the hours should not be spent on that item until you write the choice. It does not freeze the billing period, and it does not save unused hours. Memberships cannot be paused.

Do not leave a guess in progress

If work already started on an option you no longer want, correct it in the same thread. Name the line to ignore and send the replacement. The correction guide is that replacement. Hours already spent stay spent. If the new direction would pass the hours that are left, extra time is $75 per hour and starts only after you approve a written estimate.

Example: 'Ignore headline A. Use headline B from the note above. If the A version is already on staging, replace it. Do not publish.'

The plan is $999 per month, including 10 hours. Those hours are time spent on the written request, including a correction. They are not returned because the first direction was a guess.

A decision next month does not keep these hours

Unused hours expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not carry over. Waiting until you are back from a trip does not park the leftover hours on the open item. If the period ends while the choice is still unmade, the unused time expires. The item can continue in the next period only as new work against that period's 10 hours.

If you want the request to continue after renewal, say so. If you want it dropped, say that too. A line that only says 'still waiting on me' is a record. It is not a choice, and it is not an instruction to spend the next period's hours.

Cancel before the next renewal if you want future billing to stop. Service continues through the paid period you already have. There is no pause that keeps the request funded while you decide.

Write the choice where the request already lives

Send the decision as its own line so it cannot be missed under a file. Include the page and where this item sits against the other work:

  • Decision: headline B.
  • Page: the homepage.
  • Do not start the pricing table until this heading is done.

Urgent requests are reviewed and picked up within 24 hours. Other requests are reviewed and picked up within 48 hours. Those windows are pickup times. Marking the note urgent does not pick the headline for you.

Your Webflow subscription and hosting stay in your own account. A new website or a full redesign is a separate project. It is not an option you can leave open inside the monthly hours while you decide.

The Webflow retainer is the monthly plan this request belongs to. The retainer guide explains the work the included hours cover. Use this page when a request is stuck because the choice is still yours.

Questions & answers

Can I send three headlines and ask which one looks better?

You can attach the three lines, but the request still needs your pick. A note that only asks for a preference does not choose one, and there is no call where that choice gets made.

Does a hold keep this month's leftover hours until I decide?

No. A hold means the hours should not be spent on that item yet. Unused hours still expire at the end of the billing period and do not carry over. Memberships cannot be paused.

What if the wrong option is already built on staging?

Send the replacement in the same thread and name the option to ignore. Hours already used stay used. If the correction would pass the hours left, extra time waits for a written estimate and your approval.

Will an urgent label make the decision for me within 24 hours?

No. Urgent means the request is reviewed and picked up within 24 hours. Other requests are picked up within 48 hours. Those windows are pickup times, not a finish date, and not a choice.
