How do I approve extra hours on a monthly Webflow plan?
See how extra hours past the included 10 are estimated at $75, and how a written yes or no decides whether that work starts.
Extra hours on this monthly Webflow plan are $75 per hour, and they start only after you approve a written estimate. The plan is $999 per month and includes 10 hours. Before work goes past those hours, you receive the estimate for the additional time. If you do not approve it, that additional work does not begin. Unused hours still expire at the end of the billing period.
Extra work waits for a written yes
The included time is 10 hours on one plan: $999 per month for an existing Webflow site. That block is the work that can proceed inside the month. Additional work is $75 per hour. Before work exceeds the included hours, I share a written estimate for the additional time and ask for your written approval. Additional work only begins after you approve it.
A request that still fits in the hours left does not need that extra approval. A request that would pass the hours that are left does. You should see the estimate before that extra time starts, rather than as a surprise line after the month closes.
Example: four hours are left in the period, and the next page update is larger than those four hours. The estimate covers the additional time at $75 per hour. The additional work starts only after you approve that estimate in writing.
Read what the estimate is asking you to approve
The estimate is for additional time, priced at $75 per hour. It is one rate on the same plan. There is one plan for every existing Webflow site, so the monthly price does not change because the site has fewer pages.
Read the estimate next to the request you sent. Check that it describes the same pages, the same CMS items, and the same outcome. If the note is broader than what you asked for, say so in writing before you approve it. Approval is what allows the additional work to begin. Treat the reply as the decision.
Your Webflow subscription, hosting, and domain stay in your own accounts. The estimate does not move those bills into the membership, and it does not include a new website or a full redesign. Those remain separate projects with their own scope and quote.
Approve, narrow, or leave the extra work
You can approve the estimate in writing. Additional work starts only after that approval. You can also narrow the request so it fits the hours that are still included, and skip the extra time. Or you can leave the additional work unapproved. If you do not approve it, that additional work does not begin.
Communication is asynchronous and written only. There are no calls or meetings. Reply in the same thread where the estimate was sent, so the yes or the no stays attached to the scope.
Example reply when you want a smaller job: 'Skip the new section. Update only the first paragraph on the services page with the attached text, and keep it inside the included hours.' That is a decision. A message that says 'looks fine' without saying you approve the additional time is not a clear approval. Name the estimate and say that you approve it, or say that you do not.
A yes does not change the rest of the plan
Approving extra hours does not bring back unused hours from an earlier billing period. Unused hours expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not carry over. The next period starts again at 10 hours. The unused hours guide covers that expiry on its own.
Approving extra hours does not change pickup times. Urgent requests are reviewed and picked up within 24 hours. Other requests are reviewed and picked up within 48 hours. Those are pickup times, not a promise that the work will be finished inside that window.
Memberships cannot be paused to delay the extra work or to hold included hours. You can cancel before the next renewal to stop future billing. Service continues through the paid period, and remaining included hours stay available until that period ends. You can ask to rejoin later, subject to availability. Extra hours stay additional work on the existing site.
Keep the decision in the same thread
When you are ready, reply to the estimate with a clear approval or a narrower request. I will follow that written decision. The Webflow retainer is the monthly plan those hours belong to. The retainer guide explains which ongoing work fits the month.
If the estimate is for work you no longer need, say that in the same thread. Unapproved additional work does not start. The included hours that are still left in the period stay available for other written requests until the period ends.
Questions & answers
If I do not approve the estimate, does the membership cancel?
No. Declining the additional time leaves that extra work unstarted. The membership continues through the paid period, and included hours that are still left stay available for other written requests.
Does a yes restore unused hours from last month?
No. Unused hours expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not carry over. Approving extra time does not add those expired hours back.
Can I approve the estimate on a call?
No. Communication is asynchronous and written only. There are no calls or meetings. Reply in the same thread as the estimate.
Is the $75 rate a separate hourly plan?
No. Additional work is $75 per hour on the same monthly plan. It is not a second membership, and it starts only after written approval.
