How do I duplicate a page in Webflow?
Duplicate a Webflow page so the copy keeps the layout and settings, then give it a new name and slug before you publish.
Open the Pages panel, hover the page, open Page settings, and click Duplicate. Webflow copies the page content and settings. Click Create to add the copy, or use the arrow on Create to save a draft that the next site publish skips. Give the copy a new name and slug before you publish. A duplicated static page counts toward the plan's static page limit.
Duplicate the page from the Pages panel
Open the Pages panel and find the page you want to copy. Hover it, click the Page settings icon, then click the Duplicate icon at the top.
Webflow's pages panel article says a duplicate copies both the content and the settings of that page. The sections, the text, the images on the page, and the page settings come with it. You are not starting from a blank page, and the original stays in the list.
Example: a fall campaign should reuse the layout of Pricing, with a new headline and a new offer. Duplicate Pricing, then edit the copy. Pricing remains the page it was. Before you type the new headline, confirm the canvas is the copy. The page name is the check. If it still says Pricing, you are on the original.
The Duplicate icon and the Delete icon both sit at the top of page settings. Delete is not a copy. Webflow says you cannot undo a page delete. The way back is a site backup from the Backups tab of Site settings. Use Duplicate when you want a second page.
Create the copy, or save it as a draft
After you start the duplicate, click Create to add the copy. If the new page should stay off the live site while you edit, click the arrow on the Create button and save it as a draft.
The pages panel article says saving a page as a draft keeps that page from being published when you publish the site. Use the draft when the campaign page is still a sketch. Use Create when the copy should be part of the next site publish.
Create does not put the page on the public site by itself. The copy goes out with the next publish, together with the other pages you have staged. A draft stays out of that publish until you stage it. If the only goal is a private experiment, the arrow on Create is the control that matches it. You can keep the original Pricing page published the whole time.
Give the copy its own name, slug, and SEO title
The copy starts with the original settings. Page settings include the name, the parent folder, the slug, SEO settings, Open Graph settings, site search settings, and custom code in the page head and body. Password protection is also a page setting when the site has a site plan. The duplicate copies settings, so these start out matching the original until you change them.
Open the copy and set a new page name and a new slug before you publish. If the original slug is pricing, the copy needs its own, such as fall-offer. Changing the copy does not change the original address. Two published pages should not share one path.
Replace the SEO title and the meta description on the copy. A copied title would give you two pages with the same search result text. Open Graph settings were copied as well. Replace the share title and description if this campaign should look different when someone pastes the link.
If the original page is password protected, check the copy. That setting stays until you change it. A parent folder is copied the same way. Pick another folder, or None, if this page should not use the original path. Moving a published page into or out of a folder changes its URL, and a 301 redirect can point the old path at the new one. Set the slug and folder before the first publish when you can.
Stay inside the static page limit
Static page limits depend on the Site plan. The duplicate of a static page is another static page, so it counts toward that limit. The pages panel article does not list one number for every site. The plan sets the limit.
Some pages do not count against the static page limit. Branched pages and static template pages do not. User pages, Ecommerce pages, Collection pages, and Utility pages do not either. Those exceptions do not make an extra landing page free. If Create does not add the copy, check the plan's static page limit before you delete a different page to make room.
This action copies one page. It does not clone the rest of the site. A Collection list on the duplicated page still reads the same Collection. Edit the new page in the Pages panel, then publish when that page is the one people should open.
Publish the copy and leave the original alone
Publish the site after the copy has its own name and slug. Open the new slug on the live domain. You should see the duplicated layout at that address. Open the original slug in another tab. It should still show the original page.
If the original page changed, the canvas was still on the original when you edited. Open the Pages panel, select the copy by its new name, and put the new headline there. Publish again and compare both slugs.
If the new slug 404s, the copy is still a draft, or the address does not match the slug in page settings. A draft stays off the live site through a site publish. Stage it when you want it included, then publish the site and reload the new slug. Read the slug in page settings before you decide the publish failed. A slash, a folder, or an old bookmark can point at a path you never created.
Keep the live page published while a draft copy exists. The draft is a second page, not a hidden version of the first one. When the draft is ready, publish it at its own slug. The original address keeps serving the original page until you edit that page on purpose.
Questions & answers
Does Create put the new page on the live site immediately?
No. Create adds the copy so the next site publish can include it. The arrow on Create saves a draft, and Webflow says a draft is not published when you publish the site.
Why do both pages show the same SEO title?
A duplicate copies page settings, including SEO settings. Open the copy and replace the SEO title and meta description before you publish it.
Create did not add a page. What should I check?
A duplicated static page counts toward the Site plan's static page limit. Branched pages, static template pages, and User, Ecommerce, Collection, and Utility pages do not count against that limit.
Does the copy get its own Collection items?
No. The duplicate copies the page. A Collection list on that page still reads the same Collection. Duplicating the page does not clone the items.
