Webflow support

When does a one-off project fit better than monthly Webflow support?

Decide whether recurring Webflow edits fit a monthly plan, or a new site or redesign needs its own project.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Monthly support fits an existing Webflow site that keeps changing: updates, fixes, and new pages inside the current design. A one-off fits a task that ends. A new website or a full redesign is a separate project with its own quote. Webflower's plan is $999 per month with 10 hours. Extra hours are $75 and start only after a written estimate you approve. Unused hours do not roll over.

Monthly support is for a site that keeps changing

A Webflow retainer is a monthly plan for an existing site. The work is the kind that continues after launch: maintenance, content updates, bug fixes, improvements, and new pages that stay inside the current design. One person can learn the structure and pick up the next request without starting from a blank file.

Webflower has one plan for every existing Webflow site. It is $999 per month and includes 10 hours of Webflow work. There is no custom quote to join that plan, and there is no second package for a smaller site. Your Webflow subscription, hosting, domain, and third-party apps stay in your own accounts.

Ten hours is a capacity limit, not a promise of a fixed number of pages. A text change on one section and a new page built from the current layout do not take the same time. The useful test is whether you expect this kind of work to continue, not whether a single task sounds small.

Example: each month you replace a service description, add two CMS posts, and fix the layout a customer reported on a phone. That pattern is monthly support. The site already exists, and the requests keep coming.

A one-off project has an end, and a redesign is separate

A one-off project fits a task that starts and finishes. You might need one isolated change and then nothing else for a long stretch. A retainer is a poor place to park hours you do not plan to use, because unused hours expire at the end of the billing period.

A complete new website or a full redesign is not a one-off squeezed into the month. Those are separate projects with their own scope and quote. They are not included in the membership. Rebuilding the homepage, the type, and the page structure as a new design is that kind of project. Adding a page that follows the design you already have is the kind of work the monthly hours can cover, once the time is clear.

Example: you want the pricing paragraph replaced with approved text, and the mobile spacing checked. That is a bounded edit on the live site. You want the marketing site replaced, with a new layout from the first section through the footer. That is a separate project, even if some sentences from the old site will be reused.

Extra hours are approved in writing

Additional work is $75 per hour. Before work exceeds the included 10 hours, I share a written estimate for the additional time and ask for your written approval. Additional work starts only after you approve it. You are not billed for a surprise block of hours at the end of the month.

That estimate is not a quote for a new website. It is the cost of continuing the agreed work past the included hours. A new site or a full redesign still needs its own scope. Do not treat the $75 rate as a way to turn a redesign into an open-ended month.

Unused hours do not roll into the next month, and they do not become a balance you can spend on a later project. If a month looks quiet, send the work you actually need. Do not invent tasks to use the hours, and do not assume a quiet month will make the next month larger.

How to choose for the work in front of you

Write the outcome, the pages, and what done looks like. Then match that note to one of three situations.

  • The site is live, and you expect more than one request across the month. Monthly support fits, including fixes and CMS updates inside the 10 hours.
  • The site is live, and you have a single task that ends. A one-off project can fit. A new page inside the current design can also fit the month if you want the same person available for the next request.
  • The work is a new website or a full redesign. Scope it as its own project. The monthly plan does not include it.

A short written brief still matters either way. 'Replace the pricing paragraph with this text and check the layout at 390px' can be estimated. 'Make the site better' cannot. Split a redesign idea away from the small edits so the hours and the project quote do not get mixed in one list.

What the monthly plan does not change

Communication stays asynchronous and written. There are no calls or meetings to decide which path you are on. Urgent requests are reviewed and picked up within 24 hours. Other requests are reviewed and picked up within 48 hours. Those are pickup times, not a promise that the work will be finished in that window.

You can cancel at any time. Cancel before the next renewal to stop future billing. The membership stays active through the current paid period, and remaining included hours stay available until that period ends. Memberships cannot be paused. You can cancel and ask to rejoin later, subject to availability.

The Webflow retainer on the homepage is this monthly plan, for an existing site, at one price. Read the retainer guide when you want the scope in one place. Use this comparison when the real question is whether the work ends, continues, or replaces the design.

Questions & answers

Can the monthly plan include a brand new website?

No. A new website or a full redesign is a separate project with its own scope and quote. The monthly plan is for an existing Webflow site.

What if I only need one page this month?

A single page that uses the existing design can fit the monthly hours if the estimate stays inside the work you approve. A one-off project is the better fit when the task ends and you do not expect more requests.

Do unused hours become a discount on a later project?

No. Unused hours expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not carry over. They are not a credit toward a separate project.

Can I pause the month while a redesign is quoted?

No. Memberships cannot be paused. You can cancel before the next renewal. Service continues through the paid period, and any remaining included hours stay available until that period ends.
